Top 10 Nordic Featherweights Seek to Establish Pecking Order as Sten Saaremäe (#9) Takes on Fernando Flores (#4) at Cage 54

Bernando Flores (9-9; #4 ranked Nordic Featherweight) and Sten Saaremäe (6-3; #9 ranked Nordic Featherweight) will seek to clarify the Nordic Featherweight pecking order in their upcoming bout at Cage 54. The fight will take place Saturday, April 23rd at Helsinki, Finland’s House of Culture as part of Cage 54. All fights will be broadcast live in Scandinavia, The Baltics, The Netherlands, and Poland on Viaplay, in major English-speaking markets via The Fight Network, and available worldwide (excluding Viaplay countries) via pay-per-view courtesy of Fite.

In recent outings, Estonia’s Sten Saaremäe has dropped two razor thin (and extremely contentious) decisions – a split decision against SBG Ireland’s Walter Cogliandro (11-2-1) and a majority decision against Cage Warriors veteran Edward Walls (10-8). If not for those two highly contentious results, Estonia’s top prospect’s record might stand at 8-1 ahead of a UFC debut. Instead, he will make a quick return to the cage at Finland’s Cage 54. Saaremäe will be looking to reaffirm his status as a top Featherweight fighter with a victory over the #4 ranked Nordic Featherweight in Swedish-Chilean prospect Fernando Flores.

Flores (3-2 in his last five outings) will seek to right the ship and remind the world why he sits in the top five of the Nordic region’s featherweight division after an unexpected submission loss in September of last year.

The matchup will serve as Cage 54’s co-main event, with a fight between Finland’s Tuomas Grönvall (8-4-1; #4 ranked Nordic Bantamweight), who will take on a dangerous striker in Kostadin Enev. Additionally, top prospects will partake in the night’s competitions as SBG Ireland’s undefeated Constantin Gnusariov (4-0-1) returns to action against rising Swedish prospect Alexander Lindgren (2-1-0), and exciting Finnish prospect Eemil Kurhela (1-0) seeks a quick return to action after a 33 second knockout at Cage 53 in his bout against Misha Goriashvili (3-1).
