Nakashima, Abdulaev, Santos, and Adiwang Virtual Media Day 2 Interviews

ONE Championship™ (ONE) athletes competing at ONE: UNBREAKABLE, which broadcasts live from the Singapore Indoor Stadium on Friday, 22 January, spoke to the media ahead of their respective bouts.

Former ONE Welterweight World Title Challenger James Nakashima will face the toughest test of his career when he takes on former ONE Lightweight World Champion and current #4-ranked lightweight contender Shinya “Tobikan Judan” Aoki of Japan in the co-main event of ONE: UNBREAKABLE. Nakashima spoke to the media about facing a legendary grappler in Aoki, his decision to move down to lightweight to face names like Eddie Alvarez and what that means for his career moving forward, as well as his musical preferences heading into each fight.

ONE Warrior Series product, undefeated welterweight Gadzhimurad Abdulaev of Russia will make his ONE Championship main roster debut opposite former ONE Welterweight World Champion Zebaztian “The Bandit” Kadestam of Sweden. Abdulaev, in his interview prior to the bout, talked about his next opponent being a former ONE World Champion, his experience on ONE Warrior Series, as well as maintaining his perfect record.

Former ONE Women’s Strawweight World Title Challenger Samara “Marituba” Santos of Brazil looks to put one more in the win column when she goes up against rising star and current #2-ranked women’s mixed martial arts atomweight, Meng Bo of China. Santos touched on topics such as moving down to atomweight from strawweight, her thoughts on the hype surrounding Meng Bo, as well as possibly earning her spot in the ONE Atomweight World Grand Prix.

Last but not least, Filipino phenom Lito “Thunder Kid” Adiwang will lock horns with Japanese stalwart Namiki Kawahara in what is expected to be an explosive, action-packed affair. Adiwang spoke to the media about his physical and mental condition heading into the new year, the lessons he learned in a split decision loss to Hiroba Minowa late last year, as well as honing his skills with his world-class teammates at Team Lakay.
