Foxwoods gears up for Biggest New England Fight Card of the Year Inbox

Get ready to rumble as CES MMA brings you ‘Fight for a Cause’ on October 20 at the mesmerizing Foxwoods Resort Casino! With a jaw-dropping 17 fights on the card, it’s a gala of punches and takedowns with 7 pro fights, 7 amateur bouts, and 3 gripping grappling contests.

Raising our fists for a bigger reason, a slice of the night’s revenue will help fund cancer research at Dana Farber Cancer Institute, Boston, in memory of JoAnne Sullivan, the heart and soul behind the CES matchmaker Patrick Sullivan. Show your support by grabbing the limited-edition CES MMA pink and white tees this Friday or drop a dollar or two at The JoAnne Sullivan Memorial Fund.

Now, hold onto your hats, folks! The main event is bringing in the one and only, 13-time UFC star, Charles “Boston Strong” Rosa. He’s going toe-to-toe with Jonathan “The Junkyard Dog” Gary in a scorching lightweight fight. Rosa, a local hero from Peabody, is making his triumphant return to CES MMA after a stint with UFC since 2014. With an amateur record that speaks volumes and a pro career starting with 9 wins, Rosa is on fire. Facing him is the experienced Gary, a combatant with 28 fights under his belt, ready to claim his biggest victory. Rosa’s respect for Gary is evident, but don’t be fooled – he’s bringing his A-game to the ring.

But, folks, there’s excitement brewing in the co-feature too! Former CES Lightweight World Champion Nate “The Snake” Andrews is squaring off with Ali “V.I.P.” Zebian. Andrews, with a great 14-1 streak, meets the tough Zebian from Springfield, MA. Both fighters are confident, with Andrews relying on his superior skills and Zebian on his gameplan and cardio.

If that wasn’t thrilling enough, “Shameless” Don Shainis and Regivaldo Carvalho are fighting for the vacant CES MMA Featherweight World Championship title. While Shainis is after his second title in two years, Carvalho, a Brazilian beast, comes with a corner boasting two former UFC champions.

Adding more sizzle to the fight card, Eric “Zebrinha” Spicely and Justin “The Fort” Sumter are set for a light heavyweight contest to claim the crown of New England. The card is further loaded with promising fighters like Mike Antidormi, John Medina, Quentin Pasley, William Vandervier, Pat Gilbride, and Arslan Otchiyev.

Before the pros step into the limelight, the amateur fights are set to steal the show with future MMA stars hailing from New England. And for those craving a ground game, three top-contender grappling matches kick off the night, showcasing talents like UFC and PFL’s Yorgan De Castro and wrestlers from elite gyms.
